Interpersonal Psychotherapy

Evidence Based- NICE approved Psychotherapy

For Late Adolescence (18+) & Adults

Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) is a compassionate, NICE recommended and evidence-based approach designed to help you navigate the emotional challenges that arise in your relationships and life transitions. Rooted in the understanding that our connections with others significantly impact our mental health, IPT focuses on improving how you communicate, build relationships, and process changes or losses.

If you often feel misunderstood, struggle to express your needs, or feel weighed down by conflicts or life changes, IPT can provide a safe, supportive space to explore these challenges and find new ways forward.

Relationship conflicts – whether with a partner, family member, friend, or work colleague.

Life transitions – navigating major changes like adjusting to a new diagnosis or discovery, career shifts, parenthood, illness, or separation.

Loss and grief – processing the pain of losing someone or something important.

Feelings of isolation or disconnection – working through struggles with belonging or connection.

Together, we’ll uncover patterns in your relationships, explore how these impact your emotional well-being, and work on practical ways to improve communication and strengthen your connections.

What is Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)?

Why Work with Me?

As a qualified and experienced Interpersonal Psychotherapist and Mental Health Nurse with over 30 years of dedicated practice, I bring both lived and professional experience drawn from a life genuinely lived and deeply understood.

I offer a safe, non-judgemental space for you to explore the patterns of relating and communicating that may be holding you back from having the fulfilling relationships you so deeply deserve.

Interpersonal Psychotherapy with me focuses on your relationships and how they impact your mental health right now. We examine patterns in your connections with partners, family, friends, and colleagues to understand what's working and what needs to change.

As someone who was late-diagnosed ADHD and Autistic, my therapy is neuro-affirming, trauma informed and I understand the unique challenges of navigating relationships whilst neurodivergent.

Together, we identify specific relationship difficulties, explore how your communication style affects others, and develop practical skills for setting boundaries without guilt. You'll learn to advocate for your needs clearly, reduce people-pleasing behaviours, and build connections that support rather than drain you.

The therapy is structured and time-limited, typically lasting 12-20 sessions, with a clear focus on improving your current relationships, while we do explore childhood experiences, we use this information to help bus understand the here and now.

My approach combines evidence-based techniques with real understanding of neurodivergent experiences, helping you create relationships that truly work for your brain.
